Immersion at the Nuclear Medicine Department at the CEI in Saint-Grégoire, France 🎥

To support the growth of its PET procedures, the Centre d’Explorations Isotopiques (CEI) in Saint-Grégoire, north of Rennes, France, has installed new Lemer Pax radiation protection solutions in its hot laboratory.

The Easypharma® 4R shielded hot cell for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and the voice-controlled Accurion-226® dose calibrator now enable the department to prepare more than 100 patient syringes per day. Combining speed, optimal radiation protection and ergonomic design, Lemer Pax’s solutions meet the operational requirements of radiographers.

Watch the video testimonials from Mr Nicolas FAIVRE, Trainer, and Mr Benjamin SIOU, Radiographer and PCR Technician, at the CEI in Saint-Grégoire, France:

What is the CEI in Saint-Grégoire?

The Centre d’Explorations Isotopiques opened in 1992. With its roots in Saint-Grégoire, it has now grown into a comprehensive healthcare network covering the entire region. In addition to its main site, the department offers specialist care in Pontivy, Nantes, Saint-Malo, Saint-Brieuc and Cesson-Sévigné, enabling patients in Brittany to benefit from cutting-edge expertise close to home.

The Nuclear Medicine Department at Saint-Grégoire performs bone, lung and renal scans, as well as lymphoscintigraphy of the lower limbs and sentinel lymph nodes. In terms of PET scans, they carry out FDG, Dopa, PSMA, Choline and FNa PET scans.

Lemer Pax new equipment

Having partnered with Lemer Pax for many years, CEI is expanding its range with new equipment developed by Lemer Pax.

The installation of all this equipment went very smoothly: a team of trainers supported the operators so that they could quickly get to grips with the new equipment without disrupting their usual working routines. Working with local companies was a major advantage, ensuring valuable responsiveness and proximity.

Accurion-226® dose calibrator

According to the CEI team, the new dose calibrator stands out above all for two key advantages: its speed of measurement and its reliability. The almost instantaneous display of the dose saves a considerable amount of time in the daily workflow, whilst ensuring the accuracy that is essential for the safety of procedures.

The Posilift® dipper-lifting pedal effectively reduces the dose at the extremities and keeps the hands out of the radiation field, thereby enhancing radiation protection for operators.

Another innovation highly praised by users is the voice control feature, which is particularly appreciated for switching between vial mode and syringe mode without removing one’s hands from the hot cell, thereby minimising any interruption to the procedure and any risk of contamination.
