With CERN Medicis, Lemer Pax is part of a European partnership

CERN Medicis is a research institute that will be using a proton beam and an innovative mass separation process for radio isotopes for medical applications around the world. This project is devoted to nuclear medicine.

In collaboration with CERN (European Council for Nuclear Research), the ILL (Laue-Langevin Institute) in Grenoble, Arronax and several renowned European universities, Lemer Pax is participating in this adventure which will revolutionise nuclear medicine. As such, Lemer Pax is one of the eight beneficiaries of European aid to host a doctoral student as part of the ITN-ETN (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Networks) Medicis-Promed. The company will be designing and producing a type B container, directly connected to a mass separation unit, designed to transfer exotic isotopes from CERN to hospitals.

For Sébastien Avila, project manager, “this cooperation strengthens the notoriety of the company with major research laboratories in Europe and places Lemer Pax in a pro-active configuration. It also strengthens our links with Arronax“.

The Medicis-Promed project is funded by the European Commission under its Horizon 2020 programme. (contract 642889).
