Siemens Innovation Grand Prix 2011

Le jury GPI et les lauréats 2011
26/09/2011

For its 11th edition, the Siemens Innovation Grand Prix 2011 has nominated 4 French companies, including Lemer Pax for Posijet ®, a mobile unit for preparation and injection of radioactive tracers (markers) used in medical imagery operations i.e. in cancer diagnostic and therapy.

Lemer Pax Awarded By "Jury's Prize"

Unique in the world, Posijet enables operators to proceed to every step of the preparation of radioactive tracers until their injection to the patient, this in full autonomy and perfectly protected. In a nutshell, Posijet is the equivalent to radiation protection of what the mobile phone is to telecommunications. At a time when the ASN (French Authority for Nuclear Safety) underlines the operator's too frequent overexposures to ionising rays in medical imagery (X, gamma-rays), Posijet offers a true revolution for health workers and the patients' safety. More, its reduced dimensions are a room-saver for hospitals, it demands the presence of only one manipulator, and generates real economies of scale. Finally, beyond its technological relevance, Posijet helps maintaining a real human relation during anxiogenic medical procedures, as the proximity of the operator reassures the patient.

An exceptional distinction

The Siemens Innovation Grand Prix - in collaboration with Oseo and Le Pacte PME - distinguishes every year the most innovating companies in 3 categories : Jeunes Pousses (Start-ups), Ville de Demain (Town of the future) and Grand Prix (Innovation Award). The 2011 vintage will be remembered as a special one, as Lemer Pax's Posijet received the "Coup de Coeur du Jury" Award (Jury's Favourite), exceptionally created for the occasion. Valérie Chevreul, Lemer Pax Executive Officer: "... this distinction is particularly meaningful to us. First, we are obviously proud of being acknowledged with such a prestigious award, all the more with an exceptional category created for us and our invention. It is a great honour to receive this prize by Francois Gerin, Siemens Executive Officer and in the presence of French spationaut Claudie Haigneré, Universcience president. But this award is also the acknowledgement by a jury of great experts of the constant research for innovation of all the Lemer Pax staff. For example, Posijet has required a long time of development to become the reference it is now. More, its internal PC which has been especially designed by our company, now finds other applications through technology transfers..."

In its dynamic forties!

2011 is a year of celebration for Lemer Pax with 40 years of innovation and radiation protection against ionising rays for people working in the medical or nuclear industry field. Pierre-Marie Lemer, Lemer Pax CEO: "... looking back on these 40 last years, we have noticed that our main concern has been the protection of human life, in many different fields, and that our products have all been innovative: we have to this day more than 50 international patents! Thus, the Siemens Innovation Grand Prix and the Jury's special distinction come at a perfect time to acknowledge our engagement in the permanent creation of new products and encourage us and our teams on this path...". There is a common saying, "Life begins at forty": in the strength of the age, one has enough experience to be efficient at once. Lemer Pax seems to grow accordingly, with the challenge to continue its development at the international level, thanks to its innovations.
