Background

  • The Lemer family has a long industrial past in Nantes going back to the 19th century. In 1953 the radiation protection business was started with the production of the first systems for the Saclay Research Centre.
 
  • In 1958, a design office specialized in nuclear radiation protection was created. The activity was concentrated on protection calculations against gamma rays and neutrons.
 
  • In 1962, the des Etablissements LEMER et Cie was created in order to specialize in radiation protection systems for the civil nuclear industry (protection and equipment).
 
 
  • In 1970, the company LEMER Protection Anti X (PAX) was created to provide greater protection against hazardous ionizing radiation emissions for medical imaging technicians and patients.



  • After more than 15 years as Director of Research and Development and then as Managing Director, Pierre Marie Lemer bought Lemer Pax from the family group in 2005.
